Mar 23, 2023, 5:00PM to 6:20PM, GHC 4301<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The essential objective for today is a crash course in techniques for creating content for the bridge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Theory and Practice<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Jessica: essentials of light and color theory<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Garth: introduction to the bridge hardware (<a href=\"https:\/\/courses.ideate.cmu.edu\/15-661\/s2023\/ref\/text\/guide\/index.html\">user guide<\/a>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Garth: introduction to Pharos Designer 2 (<a href=\"https:\/\/courses.ideate.cmu.edu\/15-661\/s2023\/ref\/text\/guide\/Pharos.html\">installation<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/courses.ideate.cmu.edu\/15-661\/s2023\/ref\/text\/guide\/template.html\">project template<\/a>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Garth: <a href=\"https:\/\/courses.ideate.cmu.edu\/15-661\/s2023\/ref\/text\/examples\/index.html\">case studies<\/a> in bridge animation workflow<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Garth: introduction to the <a href=\"https:\/\/courses.ideate.cmu.edu\/15-661\/s2023\/ref\/text\/code\/index.html\">Python tools<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2>Project Group Meetings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Administrative questions: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Will one or more students in each group be available for nighttime show testing?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Time permitting, we will briefly check in with each group in breakout sessions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>Assignment 2<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Due: noon on Thursday Mar 30<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project handout is on the <a href=\"https:\/\/courses.ideate.cmu.edu\/15-661\/s2023\/project-brief\/\">Project Brief<\/a> page.  As per the brief, next week all groups should present a well thought out concept for the project with a storyboard of visual research and\/or sketches depicting each major design idea for the show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Deliverable: blog post for the group with the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>concept description in a concise paragraph of text<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>visual storyboard depicting the plan, including\n<ul>\n<li>visual research as embedded images and video<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>sketches (hand-drawn or digital) showing each major design idea<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Thu.
