Course Software Overview

We will use both commercial and open-source software in the course. Following is a summary list of specific software you will need to have available:

1. SolidWorks (3D CAD)

2. CircuitPython (microcontroller programming)

3. Mu Python Editor (editing Python code)

4. Python 3 (laptop programming)

5. Zoom (video-conferencing)

In addition, you’ll need to provide software to meet the following needs:

1. web browsing (Google Chrome recommended)

2. video editing

Project documentation will require a basic level of video recording and production. Nothing specific is suggested, although an entry-level tool such as iMovie or Windows Movie Maker should be fine.
