We didn’t quite finish the motor driver workshop, so we’l start off with that.

Assignments

Due today: Prototype Bill of Materials, please submit to the first phase project documentation folder at Project Phase 1 Folder. This will be an living document you’ll continue to update.

Agenda

1. For the first part of class we’ll finish the hands-on workshop to explore using a dual H-bridge motor driver to create programmed movements of a DC gearmotor. Each student should set up their own test working in collaboration with their partner.

   • Sample TB6612 Motor Driver Circuit

   • tb6612 module

   • Pololu TB6612FNG

   • brief theory of the H-bridge

   • voltage and power considerations

   • solder pins onto the driver

   • set up a breadboard circuit

   • set up a Python sketch

2. After you get the driver working, please edit your code.py to customize a motion pattern and submit it along with a brief video to Assignment 6 Shared Folder.

3. After I’ll confer with each group about plans for the next prototype.
