Super Cilia Skin from Tangible Media Group is a textural interface composed of countless whisps able to collect data on how and where they are touched – and are able to mimic this input. The Interface is ideal for teleprescence, and the paper which discusses the prototypes heavily details this (https://trackr-media.tangiblemedia.org/publishedmedia/Papers/342-Super%20Cilia%20Skin%20A/Published/PDF). What is less touched upon, but equally as fascinnating is it’s potential as a textile, allowing the integration of a low maintnence telepresence into daily life.

SCS is not about creating a body in the absence of one, but rather, futher revealing it – and mending the absence through acknowledgment.
