A soft push button sensor will be attached to the heart pump. When touch is detected, the other person’s vest reveals a hidden component or actuates a part of the vest. We think that the touch sensor will be easier to work with compared any sensor directly on the Bluefruit. Attaching a separate sensor makes way for more dynamic and creative movements.

We want to use the servo motor to trigger movement in the other person’s vest. As the servo spins, a string can pull a dangling ornament and let it swing or sweep back and forth. After discussing potential protective ornaments that can emerge from the partner’s vest (eg. spikes, keys, self defense tools) up to each partner, prompting ourselves to ponder this question: when called, what is the armor you will respond with?

We also decided to keep the location of panel that will be inflated around the chest/heart area; it feels personal and vulnerable and is consistent with our use of the heart pump.
