These are electric motor actuators with position control over a fixed travel range.  They can be used to directly actuate tendon lines or in the syringe pump.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We will primarily be following the sample circuit and code on the <a href=\"https:\/\/courses.ideate.cmu.edu\/16-376\/s2021\/ref\/text\/code\/cpb-servo.html\">Hobby Servo Examples <\/a>page. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Materials:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Adafruit Circuit Playground Bluefruit<\/li><li>LKY62 Longruner hobby servo<\/li><li>4xAA battery holder<\/li><li>four AA batteries (<strong>not<\/strong> included in kit)<\/li><li>small solderless breadboard<\/li><li>several jumper wires (male-male)<\/li><li>pair of mini-grabber jumper cables<\/li><li>optional: tape to hold down parts while working<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>An alternative to batteries is the 5V 3A power supply with the barrel jack adapter, only I was unable to locate the <a href=\"https:\/\/courses.ideate.cmu.edu\/16-376\/s2021\/ref\/text\/_images\/Sparkfun-barrel-jack-socket.jpg\">barrel jack<\/a> in my kit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>O<strong>verview:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Materials and terminology<\/li><li>Wire up the circuit<\/li><li>Test the servo sweep sample code<\/li><li>Discuss tendons and mounting<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2>Syringe Pump<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We will partially assemble a prototype syringe pump.  This is an experimental device for which we have provided several laser-cut parts.
