The designer utilizes origami-like shapes in the textiles that appear to &#8220;breath&#8221; in response to noise, sound, light, or movement. Pneumatic mechanisms are sown directly into the nylon and cotton fabric. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-vimeo wp-block-embed-vimeo wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"walking city, interactive dress 2\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/25646022?h=a6456215cb&amp;dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"620\" height=\"465\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What feature of the work could we specifically evolve into a technique for<\/strong> <strong>wearable kinetic sculpture or costume?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We could incorporate the use of sensory cues (ie. air in the video) to alter the form and pattern of the textile, possibly for smaller accessories to draw attention to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What details of the artist or concept are not immediately apparent and how do they inform the work?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The characteristics of the fabric are not immediately apparent but can be discovered by the fabric&#8217;s response to the stimulus, which can be perceived as how people react to their environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Are there closely related works?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Similar works include the use of pneumatics for rehabilitative wearables, as seen in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.liebertpub.com\/doi\/10.1089\/soro.2020.0064\">this application<\/a> for upper limb disability seen in stroke survivors.
