Fabric Dye Guide¶
This course does not normally include dye processes nor provide access to the Dye Lab in Hunt Library A31. However, individuals with previous Dye Lab experience may be allowed to use dyes. The following notes are provided as reference.

Example: Cotton Bubble Gauze¶
As per the Dharma dye yield tables, the Pomegranate dye number 148 is recommended for use at 4% total dye to fabric ratio. The cotton bubble gauze is 102 grams per square meter (GSM).
Each square meter of fabric requires 4 grams of dye.
We typically premix dyes at a 4% ratio (4 grams of dye per 100 grams water), so a square meter would use 100 mL of dye solution (about 3.4 fluid oz).
