Due today: updated bibliography. Please include only the papers related to the project as currently formulated. Please post to Project Update 2 Shared Folder.
Due Monday Mar 18: Project: Weekly Reports. Please post to Project Update 2 Shared Folder. We’ll discuss reasonable individual objectives, but it should include fully fabricating and testing a ‘proof-of-concept’ demo for your project.
Administrative¶
The printer has been partly repaired but the software system is still offline. However, we are able to manually transfer STL files submitted via the usual system.
I was asked to reset the previous submission folder. Please use the following link to create new submissions: Project 3D Printer Submissions.
We’ve fallen a bit behind schedule on account of 3D printer delays, but it is important to regain our momentum. Following is a general schedule for staying on track. It’s somewhat abstract because each project has different goals:
Week 9: ‘proof of concept’ prototype
Week 10: full system design, fabricate first critical component
Week 11: first full system iteration
Week 12: second full system iteration
Week 13: (no class Mon Apr 8) system integration
Week 14: final prototype refinement, public demo
Week 15: documentation and critique
