Assignments

Note: I apologize, I neglected to reference the formal assignment we are currently developing, please see Exercise: Laser-Cut Mold Design Workshop.

Please laser-cut and assemble your mold parts and be prepared to pour them on Wednesday. Documentation will continue to go to Exercise 6 Shared Folder.

Please calculate your part volume in cubic centimeters, we will need this to estimate material needs. Please limit your total part volume to no more than 50 cc.

Agenda

  1. Brief review of laser-cut mold designs. A few general comments:

    • please check your part volume and adjust scaling if needed

    • please consider some through-holes for alignment and clamping

    • please consider how floating elements will attach, clamp, or fasten

  2. Discuss your results for Exercise: Infusing Art with Technology (See Exercise 5 Shared Folder.)

  3. Additional discussion of mold design, as needed.
