The Custom Color Whirly-Gig is a variation of the classic Whirly-Gig where the inside is comprised of variable sized pieces of different colors which can be rearranged to generate different patterns when the toy is spinning. As indicated the sketch after winding up the toy the child will continue to preserve the energy as the momentum from the initial spin will wind the string in the opposite direction to power it in reverse. Through this the child will learn about conservation of momentum as well as transfer of energy. The toy would be constructed using laser cut acrylic tiles for the variable colored plates and a clip on plastic outer disk would keep the tiles in place.
