Flybird

Flybird

The feet of the bird are a suction cup connected to a spring which is attached to a platform. The child presses down on the bird until the suction cup is pressed all the way down and the spring is fully compressed. After a while, the suction cup will gradually lose suction and the spring will extend, causing the bird to pop up. After the bird has reached its peak and is descending, its wings will flap up. The wings are oriented like propellers, causing the bird to spin round all the way down. This teaches the child about spring action, Newton’s third law, and propellers.
