Dangling Hooks

Dangling Hooks

Description:

This toy would be similar to Monkeys in a Barrel, with the toy including 20-30 of these hooks in a set. The goal would be to create as long of a chain as possible. Children could do this on their own and experiment with different ways to hook the shapes together or race against their friends to build the longest one.

Principle:

By playing with this toy, children can gain spatial awareness. They can also learn about balance and gravity.

Construction Materials, Durability, and Safety:

  • The shapes would be made of plastic.
  • They would have to be durable enough to resist bending. Since the hooks would protrude a bit, they should not be able to snap off easily.
  • The shapes would be large enough to not be a choking hazard and the hooks would be blunt enough to not puncture skin.
