Alphabet Puzzle Peg Board

Alphabet Puzzle Peg Board

Physical Principle:

  • The principles that this toy is based on are simply the Alphabet and the Numerical System. It is meant to give children an elementary understanding of letters/numbers and how words are formed from them. It can help with spelling since each letter is tied with a corresponding picture, giving the child the idea that the object in picture is spelled with that letter.

How To Use:

  • There are two particular ways to use this toy, the “Individual” way or the “Cooperative” way. One can choose to take out the pieces and let the child learn where they go on the board by themselves, or the parent can help them by using the whiteboard on the side to draw additional pictures or spelling out the word for them.  Of course, there are other ways to use this toy like simply drawing on the white board or just letting multiple kids work together to complete it.
  • This toys targeted age group is children four years of age or higher. This toy is intended to help children starting Prekindergarten or Kindergarten.

Cost, Durability, and Safety:

  • The toy is going to be mainly made of wood where the board has two pieces of wood attached together. The bottom one will be solid while the top will have the cut outs for letters and numbers. The white board will be made of plastic and be placed in between the two boards.
  • The cost will be relatively cheap, probably around $10-$12
  • This toy will come with a caution mainly because it has small parts (the pegs) so it is advised to supervise the child/children while they play. There is also a minimum age requirement because we don’t want the children eating the pieces.
