Understanding Vision (especially Depth)

Today we discussed vision and the process by which our brains turn two inverted and incomplete projections of electromagnetic radiation into the rich 3D world that we navigate every day.  We examined just how high is the fidelity of depth that we receive through binocular (through the process known as stereopsis) and experimented by covering one eye and trying not to run into each other. Welcome to the Fall 2017 semester of Research Issues in Game Development.  This course is part of the IDeATe game design track, and is offered through the Entertainment Technology Center.  This semester, students will work on developing solutions for design challenges that are emerging in the fields of virtual and augmented reality, as well as learn about the trends and technology coming to market that will have a future impact on how we develop and consume video games.
