Performed almost entirely by Schneider, the piece is notable for its integration of LED lighting, pre-recorded sound, live sound, and (to a lesser extent) projected video. The guts of the operation are composed of an army of Arduinos controlling the integrated lights and sound, shown off in many ‘glitched’ moments. There’s also a big ‘twist’ to the piece (SPOILER ALERT AHEAD); in the middle of the performance, the screen behind Andrew drops to reveal another performer, Andrew’s mirror image, performing to another audience, also mirror image. Andrew and his double then speak in perfect unison for an extended section as they attempt to interrogate each other to determine which of them is ‘real’. This perfect unison speech is achieved through in-ear monitors.
