Use your Andrew credentials to <a href=\"https:\/\/courses.ideate.cmu.edu\/60-212\/f2020\/wp-admin\/\">log in<\/a> and access the Dashboard. Your WordPress site is configured to use Shibboleth, the Single Sign On (SSO) system in use on campus, which eliminates the need for separate accounts on each course site. For general information about editing WordPress pages, see <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/support\/article\/wordpress-lessons\/\">this resource<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Student Projects will be submitted in the form of WordPress <em>Posts<\/em> (not &#8220;Pages&#8221;), that you edit and publish with the WordPress editor after logging in. Below, you can find additional information and links describing how to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Upload and embed images<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Use standard &#8220;shortcodes&#8221; to embed external media, such as YouTube videos<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Embedding uploaded images.<\/h2>\n<p>Customary varieties of web-ready images (.jpg, .gif, .png) can be uploaded to our site using the &#8220;Add Media&#8221; button in the top left of the WordPress post editor. Click this button, upload your media to the site, and then be sure to &#8220;insert into post&#8221;. (If you forget to insert the image into your post, it will just languish in a directory of uploaded images.) Here&#8217;s what the &#8220;Add Media&#8221; button looks like:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-81\" src=\"http:\/\/cmuems.com\/2019\/60212\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/addmedia.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"97\" height=\"24\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Note that there may be restrictions on the maximum file size (10MB) you may upload. You are advised to save your file with a smaller file size and resolution, using (for example) Photoshop&#8217;s &#8220;Save for Web &amp; Devices&#8221; feature.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Embedding external media in your posts.<\/h2>\n<p>Some assignments, such as\u00a0<em>Looking<\/em><em>\u00a0Outwards<\/em>\u00a0reports, will require you to embed a variety of\u00a0<em>external<\/em>\u00a0media objects into a WordPress post. For example, you may need to embed a YouTube or Vimeo video documenting one of your projects, or a project by someone else.
