Deliverables

UPDATE (3/19/2020)

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Deliverables plan for the second half of the semester is being actively re-evaluated. Broadly: Students who are able and wish to conduct a self-directed final project within the general themes of Experimental Capture are encouraged to do so. Students displaced or otherwise affected by the crisis are encouraged to create lightweight and optional offerings, for which prompts will be provided. Per University guidelines, grading for the course has shifted to Pass/Fail.

Deliverables (Pre-COVID Pandemic)

There are 3 main Projects this semester:

  1. Typology Machine. A study of nouns; due 2/27.
  2. Person In Time. A study of an event; due 3/31.
  3. Final Project. A self-directed investigation; due 4/30.

Note that the main Projects may also have additional sub-deadlines with different due dates. For example, you may be asked to prepare a work-in-progress report for a Project, or to write a proposal for the Final Project.

In addition, there will be numerous minor assignments throughout the semester. For example, you may be asked to write a paragraph responding to a reading; or to make sure you bring some item to class. Specification of these minor assignments will generally appear in the Daily Notes.
