How to Submit Your Project to the Gallery

Here are the steps to sign in to the website and post to the Gallery.

  1.  On our class website, click on the “Log In” button under “Meta” on the right side of the screen.

2. You will be prompted to this login page. Use your CMU login and password to sign in.

3. You will need to make a new Post. To do this, hover over “Posts” on the left-hand navigation bar to reveal more post options. Then click on “Add New”.

4. Create your post. Make sure that “Gallery” is selected under “Categories” on the righthand navigation bar. Your post should include:

  • Written reflection on your project. Write a few paragraphs on the following topics and answering the following questions:
    • Your Intention – What was your starting inspiration? What did you intend for this project when you began it? Why did you decide to approach the project the particular way you did?
    • Your Process -What materials and techniques did you use? How did you make decisions about your materials and your techniques? Tell us more about the choices your made during the project and why you made those choices?
    • Your Learning – What did you learn while you did this project? What did you learn from others about your project during the critique? What you would want to try next if you were to continue? What you might do differently?
  • Photographs or video documentation of your project.
    • Samples – If you made samples, include photographs of your samples.
    • Final project photos or video – Include photo or video documentation that  helps us virtually experience your project or shows the multiple aspects of your project. Your photos should be of good quality with non-distracting backgrounds or additional items.
  • To include photos in your post, click “add media”. To include video, upload your video through youtube, vimeo or any other online video site, and then click “add media” to input the url into the appropriate field.

5. When you are finished creating your post, hit “Publish” in order to make the post public and available on our class website.
