Final Crits in Studio A on 12/9: We will meet in our regular classroom Hunt 106B (Studio A) for our final critique Thurs., Dec. 9 at 8:30am-11:30am. Have you work already up and ready to review! (Hint: you could put it up the night before) Olivia will bring coffee and bagels.

Free Online Embroidery Workshop With Rachel MacHenry of Botanica Tinctoria (through the Botanical Colors website). Thursday, Dec. 9 at 12PM Eastern Time. More info and RSVP

Work Time!

  • Options: Compile Sample Book or Work on Independent project
  • During work time, Olivia will meet with each student about their projects.

If there is time… a few tips about using Ink/Stitch for Computerized Embroidery

  • Ink/Stitch
    • Ink/Stitch An open-source machine embroidery design platform/plugin based on Inkscape. You will need to download Inkscape in order to use Ink/Stitch.
    • With Ink/Stitch you can create an image then export it for use with a computerized embroidery machine.
    • Series of great beginner tutorials. I recommend watching the ones on Stroke, Fill, and Satin Columns.

DUE FOR NEXT CLASS

The following are due at the beginning of class on Thurs., Dec. 9:

  • Complete your Independent Project
    • Upload final documentation images of your Independent Project to the class website, categorized under “Independent Project”.
    • Set up your work before our final review at 8:30am on 12/9: you could set it up the night before (make sure to put a sign on it) or early that morning.
    • Coffee and bagels 8am-8:30am: Olivia will be there at 8am with coffee and bagels. Come early to set up your work and enjoy coffee and bagels!
  • Complete your Sample Book
    • Bring your finished Sample Book to the final review to turn in (or you are welcome to turn it in during class on 12/2 if it is ready).
    • Olivia will review them that day and leave them for you in IDeATe Lending to pick up. Olivia will email once they are ready for pick-up.
