Your collection of samples will provide you with a wealth of information that you can refer back to for years to come. Your Sample Book assignment is to create an organized collection of your samples from throughout the semester. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can choose from two different formats for your sample book:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>A simple 3-ring binder with plastic sleeves, organized with labels. <\/li><li>A creatively assembled sewn textile sample book. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>(Please refer to the two examples Sample Books shown in class.) <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your Sample Book should include the following samples:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Spun wool (homespun wool yarn)<\/li><li>Dyed Wool from our Acid Dye experience<\/li><li>Felted samples<\/li><li>Sample from weaving (if yours is separate from your final weaving)<\/li><li>9-square pieced sewn sample<\/li><li>Three sewn samples from Day 1 with sewing machines: <ul><li>6 Lines<\/li><li>Concentric Squares<\/li><li>Concentric Circles<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Resist binding &amp; Reactive Dye samples<\/li><li>Embroidery Sample<\/li><li>Applique Sample<\/li><li>Printing (on fabric) sample<\/li><li>Any other samples made during experiences offered in class.<\/li><li>Any samples you made for trying out techniques for your projects.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-background has-bright-red-background-color has-bright-red-color is-style-wide\"\/>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(images: different sample books) Complete Sample Book due: Thur., Dec. 2 Dec. 9 In this course you have (and will continue to) create a number of samples for a range of textile techniques.
