Thursday, Dec. 9 at 12PM Eastern Time. <a href=\"https:\/\/botanicalcolors.com\/2021\/12\/01\/free-online-embroidery-workshop-with-rachel-machenry-of-botanica-tinctoria\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">More info and RSVP<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\" id=\"In-class\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3>IN-CLASS: <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h3><em>Work Time!<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Options: <em>Compile Sample Book<\/em> or <em>Work on Independent project<\/em><\/li><li>During work time, Olivia will meet with each student about their projects.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3><em>If there is time&#8230; a few tips about using Ink\/Stitch for Computerized Embroidery<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Ink\/Stitch<\/strong><ul><li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/inkstitch.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ink\/Stitch<\/a> An open-source machine embroidery design platform\/plugin based on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/inkscape.org\/\">Inkscape<\/a>. You will need to download <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/inkscape.org\/release\/inkscape-1.1.1\/\" target=\"_blank\">Inkscape<\/a> in order to use Ink\/Stitch.<\/li><li>With Ink\/Stitch you can create an image then export it for use with a computerized embroidery machine.<\/li><li>Series of great beginner <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/inkstitch.org\/tutorials\/resources\/beginner-video-tutorials\/#01-introduction\" target=\"_blank\">tutorials<\/a>. I recommend watching the ones on Stroke, Fill, and Satin Columns.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\" id=\"homework\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3>DUE FOR NEXT CLASS<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"homework\"><strong>The following are due at the beginning of class on Thurs., Dec. 9:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Complete your Independent Project<\/strong> <ul><li><strong>Upload final documentation images<\/strong> of your Independent Project to the class website, categorized under &#8220;Independent Project&#8221;.<\/li><li><strong>Set up your work <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">before<\/span> our final review at 8:30am on 12\/9<\/strong>: you could set it up the night before (make sure to put a sign on it) or early that morning. <\/li><li><strong>Coffee and bagels 8am-8:30am: <\/strong>Olivia will be there at 8am with coffee and bagels. Come early to set up your work and enjoy coffee and bagels!<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Complete your Sample Book<\/strong><ul><li>Bring your finished Sample Book to the final review to turn in (or you are welcome to turn it in during class on 12\/2 if it is ready). <\/li><li>Olivia will review them that day and leave them for you in IDeATe Lending to pick up.
