Resist Dyeing Handout
<\/a>Fiber Reactive Dye\/Procion MX Dyes (dichlorotriazine):
<\/strong>Fiber reactive dyes are used to dye plant based\/cellulose fibers (cotton, linen, canvas, hemp, jute, ramie, sisal, paper, rayon etc) in cold water (75F-95F). Addition of salt and dye activator (soda ash, washing soda, Sodium Carbonate, Na2CO3) are necessary. Techniques that can be used with these dyes: tie dye, immersion dyeing, batik, screen printing, direct application, gradation\/ombr\u00e9 dyeing, sprinkle dyeing. Instructions for techniques other than full immersion can be found in Jacquard’s Procion MX Dye \u2013 Instructions<\/a>. Scour fabric prior to dyeing following these instructions<\/a>.
