Addition of salt and dye activator (soda ash, washing soda, Sodium Carbonate, Na2CO3) are necessary. Techniques that can be used with these dyes: tie dye, immersion dyeing, batik, screen printing, direct application, gradation\/ombr\u00e9 dyeing, sprinkle dyeing. Instructions for techniques other than full immersion can be found in Jacquard\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/static1.squarespace.com\/static\/5ac4eb022971149bb6d709d3\/t\/5b3e5a158a922d76136e0e5d\/1530812950228\/Procion-MX_Instructions.pdf\">Procion MX Dye \u2013 Instructions<\/a>. Scour fabric prior to dyeing following these&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.farmandfolk.com\/blog\/2020\/6\/25\/natural-dye-series-post-1-scouring\">instructions<\/a>. Retailers and manufacturers mix these single hue dyes to produce proprietary color mixes. In the Dye Lab we have dyes from all three retailers listed below.
