Homework for February 12
1. On Wednesday, class meets in the Sewing Lab A4

2. Watch Machine Sewing Powerpoint (there will be a quiz)

3. All looms must be re-warped by the beginning of class, February 19.

Watch removing sample weavings from the loom when you are ready to re-warp your loom.  I will show you different strategies for hiding weft tails and finishing the warp ends later. For now, your only goal is to prevent the sample weaving from unravelling when you cut the warp ends off of the loom. You will accomplish this by securing the warp ends with a knot. You can use an overhand knot for bundles of 4-10 warp ends on both top and bottom of the weaving.  If you prefer to use another knot, that is fine as well; just do not make them too tight. In the video (removing sample weavings from the loom) the beginning of the weaving is slid off the apron rod.  Not all looms will allow you to do that.  I prefer that you untie and retie the warp ends at the beginning of your sample. This way you will avoid spending time reattaching the white apron strings to the apron rod (if your loom allows you to accomplish this).
