2. The last day to confirm with Natalya what students will be making for their final assignment is November 11. By the start of class on November 11, students must email a detailed plan of action for their final project. Students are responsible for coordinating their plans with exam schedules, major deadlines, Thanksgiving travel, and other personal responsibilities.
Tops
When creating a plan of action for a top, students should realistically account for the following steps:

Drafting all pattern elements of the top.

Creating samples to practice the construction of complex elements.
-
Sewing the first muslin (for fit).
-
Sewing the second muslin (to refine construction quality).
-
Completing the final garment in fashion fabric.
Pants
When creating a plan of action for pants, students should realistically account for the following steps:

Either purchase, download, and assemble a printed pattern or choose one of the commercially printed patterns available in class.

Watch all videos in the playlist by Crooked Hem on the Top Down Center Out method of fitting pants.

Create a ½ muslin following the Top Down Center Out method for fitting.

Make construction samples to practice difficult techniques.
-
Sew a full-sized muslin including all design features.

Complete the final garment in fashion fabric.
3. Sleeveless Tops and Tunics are PAST DUE. Students who completed their sleeveless shells and tunics, please iron them and hand next to the slopers with your name on the masking tape attached to the inside of the garment.
