By the start of class on November 11<\/strong>, students must email a detailed plan of action<\/strong> for their final project.\u00a0 Students are responsible for coordinating their plans with exam schedules, major deadlines, Thanksgiving travel, and other personal responsibilities.<\/p>\n

Tops
\n<\/strong>When creating a plan of action for a top, students should realistically account for the following steps:<\/p>\n

    Drafting all pattern elements of the top.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  2. \n

    Creating samples to practice the construction of complex elements.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  3. \n

    Sewing the first muslin (for fit).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  4. \n

    Sewing the second muslin (to refine construction quality).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  5. \n

    Completing the final garment in fashion fabric.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Pants
    \n<\/strong>When creating a plan of action for pants, students should realistically account for the following steps:<\/p>\n

      Either purchase, download, and assemble a printed pattern or<\/strong> choose one of the commercially printed patterns available in class.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      Watch all videos in the playlist by Crooked Hem<\/em> on the Top Down Center Out<\/strong> method of fitting pants.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    3. \n

      Create a \u00bd muslin<\/strong> following the Top Down Center Out<\/em> method for fitting.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    4. \n

      Make construction samples to practice difficult techniques.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    5. \n

      Sew a full-sized muslin<\/strong> including all design features.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    6. \n

      Complete the final garment in fashion fabric.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
