Class 5: Preliminary Design Presentations

Thu. Apr 18, 2024, 5:00PM to 6:20PM, GHC 4211

Please note: room location has changed for the rest of the semester.

The essential objective for today is to review the proof-of-concept results from each group.

Announcements

The final class on Thursday Apr 25 will be an evening show after dark, starting at 9PM and running for about an hour. We will not meet at all during the usual class time. Please be sure to submit your final files on time that day so we can queue up the final show. You are welcome to invite friends to the viewing.

Please be sure to sign up for nighttime testing sessions using the Pausch Bridge Booking Page. Times may be booked in one hour slots. Unscheduled times are possible, but please defer to groups with scheduled usage.

Please be sure to shoot quality video documentation. Be sure to bring a tripod, that is frequently the difference between usable and unwatchable documentation. A great place to document the bridge is from below, especially right at the intersection of paths.

Proof-of-Concept Review

Each group has about 15 minutes to show and discuss their video. As you present, please consider: what feedback would be most useful to hear?

As you observe, please consider: how would you describe your experience of the piece? What do you see?
