Class 4: Technical and Project Q&A

Thu. Apr 4, 2024, 5:00PM to 6:20PM, GHC 4211

Please note: room location has changed for the rest of the semester.

The essential objective for today is to review the implementation plan from each group and advise on technical solutions.

Announcements

Please remember we are off next Thursday (April 11) for Spring Carnival. We resume on April 18 with your 2-4 minute preview videos

Operators, please talk to Garth about a brief training session in bridge operation. The details of Pharos system access can be found on Remote Access.

Please schedule a time soon to test uploading a new Pharos project to verify access and practice the process. Please use the Office Hours Booking Page for this or email Garth directly if nothing works.

Nighttime sessions to test out material on the bridge can be scheduled using the Pausch Bridge Booking Page. Times may be booked in two hour slots. Unscheduled times are possible, but please defer to groups with scheduled usage.

Please be sure to shoot quality video documentation. Be sure to bring a tripod, that is frequently the difference between usable and unwatchable documentation. A great place to document the bridge is from below, especially right at the intersection of paths.

Lighting Design Questions

We’ll first try to cover any questions centered on design or narrative.

Technical Questions

We’ll meet with individual groups in breakouts to resolve technical questions.

Assignment 4

Due: start of class Thursday April 18

For the next class, all groups should present a video 2-4 minutes in length showing a proof of concept demonstration. All projects should demonstrate three key moments of a show.

Deliverable: one video per group placed in the Assignment 4 folder.
