8.7.1. Physical Computing Lab: Hunt A10: Policies and Inventory

  2. Physical Computing Lab Inventory. The lab inventory of components and materials is available online as a Google Sheet with separate tabs for tools and materials. Please note that many parts have purchasing links or datasheet links which can lead to detailed specifications.

If you see that general stock of an item is depleted, there are paper forms near the lab door which can be used to request re-purchasing.

8.7.2. Course Project Purchasing

If a course offers a project budget, students may submit purchasing requests for project-specific items via the IDeATe course purchase request form, subject to instructor approval. Please check the lab and lending inventories first to see if what you need is already available before making a special request.

8.7.3. Lending

The lending office is in the Hunt basement near the elevator. The office stocks raw materials (e.g. acrylic, plywood), components to borrow, and equipment to check out.

  5. Hunt Library Hours
  6. The CMU BioRAFT site is the portal for signing up for safety training and documentating completion of required training. Use of the IDeATe laser cutters requires completion of both the online Fire Extinguisher Use, Part 1 course and the hands-on Fire Extinguisher Use, Part 2 session.
