Thin-Section Bearings

../_images/6707-2RS-ball-bearing.jpg

Thin-section bearings are ball bearings with an especially large bore. They are useful for keeping the center of a rotation axis open, e.g. for sensors or wiring. They can sometimes be used as a solitary bearing, i.e., they are wide enough to support off-axis loads in some applications without requiring a pair of bearings.

These metric bearings follow a standard size numbering scheme. E.g., a 6707 size has a 35 mm inner diameter, 44 mm outer diameter, and 5 mm width. Here is a handy table of standard sizes: https://www.bearingworks.com/bearing-sizes/
