The central artistic inquiry of this project is that the robot needs human’s help to fulfill its own promise, in the hope of stimulating human’s compassion and create cross species connection. The surprises lie in the behaviour of the robot. In this project, the robot as a non-living feature can sense the danger around it and get stressful.

In the staging, there is a small gap between the two stages. The robot’s goal is to get pass the gap to get to the other side. However, the robot is afraid that it would fall off the ground, therefore, it would feel unsafe near the edges of the stage. When The robot gets closer to the edge, it will slow down and wonder around the edge. The attempt to cross the gap will fail, that’s when human comes in to help the robot.
