In this assignment, we are trying to explore the color and texture combination of the shibori dyed material we made in class. We chose to make the fabric combination minic a swimming goldfish.
The intended effect for the fish is to swim across (horizonal movement), and also be able to “open and close” its tail. It is surprizingly easy to make the fish move forward and backwards, and surprizingly hard to control the tail. In order to over come the problem with stretching the fabric too much, we added a ring where the tail of the fish suppose to be at, and sliped another set of string through. This method helped us work it out to some extent, but once the fish goes too far, its tail gets caught in the ring.
