Our concept is a light that is remotely triggered by someone in the pair (or a group with an LED light and a color assigned to each person) in order to remind the other(s) that they are thinking of them. This is a method of communication that requires no words, only a visual light response. This could possibly be turned into an audio response as well, playing a jingle on a device rather than flickering a light. This telepresence almost creates the effect that the person is there and able to turn on and off the light, but rather this person could be at work, at school, or across the world.
In order to execute this, we sent a text message from one phone to another indicating when to turn on a light to a third party, who then turned on the light, establishing a point of communication without the person receiving the response also receiving the text message. In order to execute this in a long-term scenario, this lamp would need to be attached to an internet-connected device, such as a particle argon, that would be able to receive messages at any time of the day in order to control this light. Ideally this light would also be used only for receiving messages so that a signal would never be missed due to the light already being on.
