Snowball Crossbow 

 

Principle of toy:  

The snowball crossbow utilizes the elasticity of the bow to store potential energy that can be used to launch snowballs.

How children will interact with the toy:

Players first have to make snowballs by hand, and then load the crossbow by pulling back the string and hook it to the trigger. Then children can simply place the snowball on the soft padding, and use the trigger to release the snowball.

Construction cost, durability and safety:

Besides the bow of the crossbow that might require more expensive material, most part of the toy can be made mainly by plastic material. The toy may be vulnerable to failure by misuse and over-use since the bow maybe be permanently deformed. This toy can be a safety concerning if children decide to place other objects such as rocks in the crossbow.
