ARMORE

ARMORE

A mechanical toy arm. A hand is displayed with strings connected to each finger.
It’s more arm

(more arm)

  • The child may learn about the concept of friction when attempting to pick up slippery objects ,  how muscles in the hand work in an abstract way, and that heavier objects require a stronger grip force.  If i were to use this, the first thing that would come to mind is how much weight can the arm possible endure.  I’m sure children will attempt some kind of exercise with the assistance of the hand, so they might also learn what makes the human body so great.  For example, if Jake tries to do a push up with the ARMORE on, he might have a hard time considering how asymmetrical his body is now.
  • The child wears the toy hand with extended arm guard (for support) and uses strings tied to bands that wrap around their fingers.  Each finger may pull on individual bands to contract fingers on the toy and attempt to grab/pick up small objects.
  • Most of the parts should be made of plastic, with the exception of the bands connecting the child’s fingers to the toy.  The hand should be durable and flexible enough for a teenager to sit on it without destroying it.  I would also like to have a one-size-fits-all arm guard.
