Chomping Pikachu
- This toy is based on reaction time and fast motion.
- The child will put their finger into Pikachu’s mouth and wait for Pikachu’s cheeks to light up. When the lights appear, the child should try to pull their finger out of Pikachu’s mouth before Pikachu (lightly) bites the finger. The amount of time between the cheeks lighting up and the “bite” decreases over time until eventually the child loses the game.
- The Pikachu head will be made of durable plastic, likely 3D printed. It should be printed in 2 parts to allow it to be assembled. The mouth will contain an IR LED, photodiode, and a small servo attached to an Arduino inside the head. With small and well mounted components the entire toy should be safe against drops. Since there are no small parts accessible to the child, the toy should be safe to use.
