The toy shoots small foam rings at roughly 10″ poles that can be placed wherever the user desires. Uses a spring-powered plunger mechanism with a trigger and lock. The child would set up the targets where they want and then shoot from wherever they want. There are also point labels on the targets so if one wanted to have a game or competition they could.
Based on the principles of projectile motion (since the power of the shot will be the same every time, it is the angle of the shot that will be variable in this scenario).
Toy would be made from some kind of ABS (or similar type) plastic with a metal spring. The rings and poles would both be foam-wrapped wire of some kind to maintain shape (rings could also be rubber although this would make it more dangerous and would require a stronger spring).
