How it works:
- Table:
- To clamp the workpiece to
- Can be adjusted along all three axes
- Locking mechanisms to prevent the table from moving
- Spindle:
- Various sizes and types of drill bits can be inserted into the spindle
- Two separate levers allow you to lower the drill bit to the workpiece
- Includes a locking mechanism to prevent the drill bit from moving when making contact with the workpiece
- CNC Controller:
- Displays the location of your table using x, y, and z coordinates
- Each of the three coordinates can be re-zeroed independently, allowing you to create new references for precision work
- Built-in calculator
- Drill bit rotational speed
- Spindle feed rate
When to use it:
- Smooth out edges of a workpiece
- Drill holes
- Create slots in the workpiece
Location:
- Tech Spark Fabrication Space – Hamerschlag Hall C Level
- Open to all CMU students via training courses, primarily 24-200 Machine Shop Practice
