Paddle Car

  • This is a basic wind up or remote control car that has the wheels replaced by a symmetric pattern of fins/spokes that allow for both land and water travel. In theory, the wheel spokes would be close enough together to allow for rolling and structural rigidity while also acting like steamboat paddles in the water. The car serves to teach kids about forces, buoyancy, and friction.
  • This toy would serve to teach kids the basic operations of forces and how they differ on land and water. The kids would interact with the toy either through a remote control or by observation.
  •  The car would most likely be made out of a combination of either wood, plastic, or rubber. These materials would be selected for their low density to allow for floating in the water and their corrosion resistance. The safety aspect is the same as any other remote control car.
