The Claw is a creepy but ultimately perfectly safe walking toy. As with any walking or jumping toy, it is based simply on a winding mechanism and then gearing to get the fingers to move opposite of one another.
Children interact with the toy by winding it and letting it do its thing. It does not only walk straight, but it also can move sideways and backwards. The goal is to teach children about how things other than just a bipedal human can move, with a creepy spin on it.
The Claw will be constructed out of a silicone “skin” to give it a creepy feel. Each of the fingers will be made out of a metal truss-like structure to support the tips. The gearbox will be a classic wind-up toy’s gearbox. There are no external parts, so it is allowable for children under 3, however it should be noted that it is meant to be creepy.
