The Puppet Box

Alessio Mosaed

The puppet box is based on a marionette. In hindsight, the only real difference is that one is confined to a box and is easier to manipulate, while the other is only useful for talented individuals.

This toy is designed to be enjoyed buy people of all ages. Play is simple. All the user has to do is manipulate the strings in whichever way that they want. This action will empower the player, and he will be able to play around with different combinations of movement and learn about the degrees of freedom and the restricting motions involved with coordinating the appendages. I believe  player would also have improved mental ability as there are many variables he/she must keep track of and many things to control at once.

Assuming the user doesn’t yank at the strings or take scissors to, or throw the box out of frustration, the assembly will bye quite durable. The only foreseeable complication is that the strings would get tangled up/ it would get confusing as to which string the user is controlling at any given moment.
