Process:
- Material preheated and placed in shape mold
- Molder compresses to form material to mold shape
- Part is removed and flash is cut off
Common Materials: plastics, rubber
Pros:
Good for making many parts that are very similar
Cheapest molding method
Cons:
Poor consistency
Poor control over flashing (waste material)
