Intro to Forces & Gravity
Force: a push or a pull that causes something to move, change direction, accelerate, or stop
- Forces come in two different types: a push and a pull
- A push causes the box to move away from the person
- A pull causes the box to move towards the person
- Forces act on objects whether they are in air, water, on the ground, or anywhere else. Forces are general and apply to all objects.
- Forces can either work together or against each other

- Forces can also cause objects in motion to change direction
- In the image, the moving ball changes direction when it is hit by the bat
Gravity:
- Gravity is a force that always pulls things down
- The more an object weighs, the harder gravity pulls down on the object

Keep in mind: A heavier plane will require more force to work against gravity and stay in the air
