Game Design, Prototyping, and Production

53-471/671 | Spring 2019 | Entertainment Technology Center | Carnegie Mellon University

Welcome!

10 January 2019 by Tom Corbett

Welcome to Game Design, Prototyping, and Production 2019! (Now in our 5th year!)

Our first class meeting will be on Monday, January 14th at 10:30am in Hunt Library Studio A. We will be playing games with some light physical activity, so please wear comfortable clothing that will allow you to move around.

Also, block out your calendars for the weekend of January 25-27th, as our first class assignment will be to participate in the Global Game Jam. This year we are joining our regular IDeATe site with the other Pittsburgh site run by the local IGDA chapter to form one giant mega-jam site. This 48-hour event will be held in Simmons Auditorium in the new Tepper building and will feature amateurs, enthusiasts, and professionals all working to create new games in a very short timeline. (Don’t worry, it’s a lot of fun.)

Slots have been reserved for students taking this class. Details on sign-ups will be shared in class during the first week.
