PROJECT

You’ve arrived at the Final Assignment… the Boss Level of Projects. You’ll need to use all of your well earned skills to pass the ultimate test of making a great game with someone else’s story.

Your studio has been chosen to develop a new title for a publisher that recently acquired a suite of well known intellectual properties. Your job is to pitch, design, and deliver a game in 5 weeks, along with the relevant support documentation and marketing materials.

The specific range of IP that you can choose to work with is: any FAIRY TALE or FABLE.

You will begin by quickly generating game concepts in class and then delivering short “elevator pitches” of each concept. Two of these pitches will be selected to be developed into fuller and more realized concepts. One of these concepts will be chosen as your game, and you will begin pre-production as you finalize your Platform Assignment.

Your pre-production package will be presented in a project “greenlight” meeting with the instructor, and then you will have 4 weeks to complete the production of your game, just in time for the last day of class.

The typical rules apply:

  1. No Shooters or Pornography (BVW Rules)
  2. No Pirates, Ninjas, or Zombies
  3. No Arial

Further details about key deliverables such as marketing materials will be announced in class.
