“The Monitor Celestra” by Alternaliv (2013)
The Monitor Celestra was a Nordic-style larp (live action roleplaying game) inspired by Battlestar Gallactica that transformed a Swedish destroyer-class battleship into “a real frakkin spaceship.” The game lasted over three weekends, included 389 participants (players) who each paid a fee, and received a costume, character profile and story and “historical” background. Participation included pre-game workshops that varied depending on the character you played. The crew, for example, had to be trained on how to fly the spacecraft. Play was divided into “episodes” that furthered the central plot line. Read the pre-game briefing. YouTube / FishAndElephant . – via Iframely |
