This project from Microsoft Research stands out to me because of the level of engagement with the community by seeking input toward a City Council’s new ballot measure along  Tenison Road.  The goal of the project was to explore what data means for the people living and working on Tenison Road by opening up the selection process and highlighting various measures within the proposal in the form of interactive posters pedestrians could vote on along the stretch of road.

The project also drove digital traffic to the website Ballotshare which digitizes the democratic process and carries the conversation happening in the physical public realm into a virtual one.  While not using an Arduino for this project, various analogous projects can be found which focus on creating machines that allow for voter input as situated in public spaces.
