A bioreactor uses a light source to cultivate microscopic photosynthetic organisms. This idea is inspired by the creator’s perception that biofuel is an important stepping stone to a world economy independent of fossil fuels. Specifically, the bioreactor uses pressure through understanding of Henry’s Law in order to increase the partial pressure of carbon dioxide in the air surrounding the photosynthetic organisms. This is an experiment, and the creator is exploring if it may increase dissolved carbon dioxide, and increase the growth of algae by boosting photosynthesis.

The experiment uses Arduino for sensing and data collection of the internal conditions.
