Mirror with a Memory podcast submission with the Carnegie Museum of Art

Taylor Fisch, Curatorial Assistant at the Carnegie Museum of Art, is looking for participants to be included in an upcoming podcast about photography, surveillance, and artificial intelligence.

Here you can review and, if interested, submit your answers to questions about these topics. You can record your responses using the microphone on your laptop or phone. By submitting your answers, there’s a chance your voice could be featured in Carnegie Museum of Art’s first podcast!

Debuting in December, the podcast will spotlight different facets of the conversation around AI and photography from biometrics to racial bias to navigating contact in a post-COVID-19 world. Hosted by Martine Syms, the six-episode series will feature other leading artists and thinkers in dialogue alongside insights from the public, unpacking the ways in which the collision of photography, surveillance, and artificial intelligence impacts everyone.

If you contribute to this podcast, you can receive up to 10 extra credit points. To receive credit for your submission, please email Zach and Heidi a copy of your confirmation email from the Museum stating, “We have received your response.”

BOOM Jam Puppet Slam! 

Deadline Saturday, November 7

This virtual event with BOOM Concepts streamed by City of Asylum is fast approaching that they’re accepting submissions for puppet videos by anyone!

This is an opportunity to be shown alongside internationally renowned puppeteer, Tarish Jeghetto Pipkins! Tarish is originally from Clairiton, Pa and is one of the founders of First Fridays in Garfield. You may remember Missy Elliott’s music video WTF (Where They From) – he made the puppets twerk!

Other puppeteers include former teaching artist and F.I.N.E. Artist, Felicia Cooper; former F.I.N.E. Artist, Dave English; Paulette Richards from Atlanta, Georgia; and emerging puppeteer and Pittsburgh native who grew up with the Margo Lovelace Theater, DS Kinsel.

Videos must be family friendly and must be no longer than 5 minutes. These can be older videos or new videos! Puppeteers of all levels are welcome.
